Today’s parents have a wide range of tools and technologies available to make coparenting while divorced much easier from a communication and information sharing standpoint. Relying on these apps can help you stay organized and make communication less fraught and tense.
Here are a few examples of some of these apps you should look into for your coparenting needs.
- WeParent: This app, developed by a person with a Ph.D. in Psychology, is ideal for managing events and appointments, sharing documents, creating custody schedules, tracking expenses and sending messages. Its goal is to eliminate conflicts and keep the focus on parenting tasks and responsibilities.
- FamCal: While it’s not specifically designed for coparenting, FamCal does have a lot of features that can make it ideal for parents in a shared custody arrangement. It features a shared calendar for events, tasks and notes, and you can color code it for different family members, which makes it ideal for families with multiple children who are involved in a lot of different activities.
- Our Family Wizard: This app was developed by a divorced couple to ensure harmonious communication. Each parent has a separate account, and they can add accounts for children, professionals and other third parties at no extra cost. A ToneMeter checks to make sure your message tones aren’t too negative so you can avoid arguments.
- 2Houses: This app also features a custody schedule as well as the ability to upload notes and photos, manage expenses and exchange important information. Pricing is per family instead of per parent, which can make it more affordable than some of the other more noteworthy apps out there.
Honorable mentions include Parentship, Coparently and many of the Google Drive suite of applications.
